WORK ROLE: Bilingual candidate (Japanese/English) with
a degree in computer science and at least 3 years experience
or a degree in a scientific subject with at least 3 year's
commercial experience after graduation. Financial services
industry experience with particular knowledge of the Japanese
markets and related exchange technology is strongly desired
although not essential. Experience with the design and
implementation of Trading and Execution systems or other
realtime applications of similar complexity will behighly
valued.
QUALIFICATIONS: Significant development experience in
one of the following: C, C++, Tcl/Tk or Java. O/S Experience:A
basic familiarity with UNIX and Windows as a user is essential.
Detailed programming knowledge is not required. Some knowledge
of at least one major RDBMS (Relationship Data Base Management
System) is required.
DUTIES: Development of new systems to support existing
businesses and new electronic trading initiatives. The
split between development and support/maintenance will
vary but will generally be around 2/3rds development and1/3rd
support. In common with other financial services organizations,
we work in a rapidly changing environment meaning that
flexibility is a basic requirement, both in terms of the
technology used and day-to-day duties including some night/weekend
hours working will be required.
TECHNOLOGY: The vast majority of development within the
team takes place using C++ on UNIX, TCL/TK on UNIX and
Java on UNIX and Windows NT with a smaller amount written
in Perl. However, we do have some applications written
in other languages like Microsoft Access. Native Windows
NT development will take place in the future plus applications
that make use of SYBASE via the RogueWave class libraries
(C++/UNIX) and JDBC (Java). |
