| Information Technology Head of Asia & Japan is now
needed at a top derivative firm to provide oversee expansion,
support and maintenance of the firm`s current technology
infrastructure. This role will be wide in scope and cover
development and integration of new computer, networking
and telecommunications systems. This role will need to
liaison with technical staff in other IT offices and participation
in company-wide plus Asia/Japan infrastructure initiatives.
As a senior member of the technical team, the candidate
will be expected to provide guidance and training for
local operational staff across a broad range of subjects.
A regional responsibility for all IT systems issues will
require overseas travel to Hong Kong and will be based
in Tokyo. New York & London trips will not be regular.
This top level role has high level responsibility for
key IT issues on an EQUAL level within global IT team
management. This will NOT be a second level post for a
dominant New York or London based IT head office. ALL
nationalities may apply for this role, but direct experience
candidates will be given priority. This role will help
hire a team of 10+ IT professionals. A scientific degree
with at least 10 years of IT related experience in systems
support and design is expected. The candidate should have
hands-on financial experience in some of the following:
installation and troubleshooting of applications and systems
software, servers, desktops, peripherals, routers, hubs,
firewall, and other LAN/WAN hardware; network design and
capacity planning skills etc. Strong project management
skills are essential along with good verbal and written
communication skills in English and the ability to manage
his/her time effectively. Any direct experience in Asia
or Japan with any related language skills will be short-listed
for interviews quickly. FX, Equity and Debt derivative
products (including convertible bonds) will be used for
front office development project work applications. Ability
to work in a fast-paced, progressive environment is required.
Experience with Quick, Reuters, Bloomberg, Bridge/Telerate
live feed systems will be a high interest. Substantial
Sun, Cisco and Microsoft/PC experience is highly valuable.
Thorough understanding of networking principles, knowledge
of Sybase (or another relational database) would be advantageous.
